wow, i am still ridiculously sore today! (but at least today, it almost feels like a good "i'm-improving-mysef" pain. yesterday it was more of an "i-hate-myself" pain.)
clearly, in my quest to increase my cardiovascular activity, i neglected to integrate muscle strengthening and toning exercises. oops! i'm paying dearly for that now, BUT at least i've learned a valuable lesson! (FYI: here is the link the exercises that i've started. i think it was the side lunges, front lunges, and hip squeezes that did me in!)in other news, i am very, very frustrated about something at work. it is SO petty, and i hate myself for being annoyed by it. BUT it's actually starting to affect my attitude and work output. do you remember a month or so ago when i posted about the co-worker in the cubical next to me who is a really, really, really loud typer? well, i tried to ignore it, i tried to drown it out, i tried to just "get over it", but this all was to no avail. recently, this co-worked moved to a different office -- one with a door! -- and i was SO ecstatic that i would not have to hear her crazy typing antics anymore. but i was wrong. so, so wrong. i think she types louder than ever now. and she never closes her office door, so it just resonates even louder and vibrates throughout the office. AHHHHH! for whatever reason, this is absolutely maddening to me. i cannot handle it. do you think it would be rude to talk to her about it? (she's generally a very nice and sweet person, but i don't want to offend her.) or should i casually mention something to my manager? maybe even suggest that i move to a cubical that is further away? or buy some noise-canceling headphones? or just get over myself and suck it up? all i know is that something's gotta give or i'm going to self-implode!
anyway, whew! i just had to get that off my chest.
back to work now. hope you have a great wednesday!

That's a hard one...Is there a possibilty for you to relocate? Would you rather talk to her or move? I tried typing loudly, but I didn't manage to generate much noise (maybe it's the keyboards at work). Prayed just now for a solution!
Hmmm - yah that's a tough call. Do you think it would really help to move your cubical if the typing resounds that loud? I am thinking the headphones option would be a good one to start with and then if that doesn't work maybe resort to other measures. That would drive me MAD too!
Just checked out the link for Gabrielle Reese's exercises......I see why you are in pain. The pain will fade-just keep doing the exercises I think your body will get used to them.
Just msged you on facebook - great idea! Will see what we can do. Have a great day!
I wonder if it's her keyboard? You know how some are much more clacky than others? I wonder if you could mention it to your manager, on the side, and ask that they purchase her a new, quiet, keyboard. Then it wouldn't come from you, it would just be a nice thing that the company did for her. Other than that, I think headphones and music are probably your only solution that won't cause hurt feelings.
@Marketer319 - yeah actually, i do think it's her keyboard. her typing never bothered me before, and then recently she got a new ergonomic keyboard. it's just SO loud. ugh. or maybe i'm just a big baby. or maybe a combination of the two?
Hmmm...I am not sure what to tell you. Although it just made me realize that I think I am a noisy typer! I have long nails and an ergonomic keyboard. Oh boy. Someone probably wants to confront me! I don't know if I can help it though. :(
Darn. It's a new keyboard. At least that gives you something to blame it on (not her being a crappy typist
), so I think you could actually talk to her. If she LOVES her new keyboard, I don't guess there's a lot you can do, but if she doesn't... maybe you can talk her into a lovely quiet model. They really ought to rate keyboards for noise level, just like they do exhaust fans (can you tell I'm renovating a bathroom?).
