  • i'm back from a long weekend with some good friends.  it was a great way to spend the Fourth of July!  i love being with steve on Independence Day.  he gets uncharacteristically serious and reflective during the fireworks display.  i'm so proud of my solider and his service to our country!

as lovely as our holiday was, though, it's difficult to admit that this past weekend was our last vacation / getaway for a long, long time.  i won't have a day off of work until Labor Day.  sigh....    that feels like a really long stretch.

i'm feeling a little tired and blaaaaahhh at the moment, so i think i'll wrap this up before i turn into Ms. Sad-and-Complain-y Pants.

hope you have a gorgeous monday!

the big loud booms always get me all serious & reflective-like, too.  It's really amazing to think about all our country has been through.  and mucho thanks to Steve & the others that have/do serve!

got your email...glad you liked your stuff.  the only thing that caused me to hesistate before buying it was wondering if you already had one--cause i know how you are!!  So, I'm glad you didn't. :)

(did the the whole quizno's/dolce switch make sense?)

@faithchick - hahaha, yes, i understood the quiznos / dolce switch.  it really made me laugh!  i would have been happy with a quiznos gift card, but the chocolate was so, so divine!  (melty, but divine nonetheless)

I hear ya on the long time till a break thing.  I feel like I've barely seen Ed lately with his work/grad classes/assignments.  This weekend was like a big deep breath of fresh air.  Ahhh.  I keep looking for other ways to fill our (me and the kids) time so that the time without him goes faster, and so that hopefully some of the activities we choose give us the sense of a mini "vacation."  I can't claim overt success, but some days are definitely better than others!  Too bad we don't like in PA any more...we could hang out!

Booo on the short blog due to the avoidance of becoming miss complain-y pants.  you are kinda funny when you whine... it would have been entertaining  hehee

Glad you had a fun weekend with friends and your handsome soldier.  I think it's really cool that he gets all serious during fireworks... We certainly appreciate him and how he's served our country!!

Hope the day gets better! Would diet coke help!?

Too few days off is totally a good reason to whine.  So feel free...we love you anyway (and totally understand!).

    Yay for a great weekend!

@FlyingCAB - i cracked open a can of diet coke as soon as i sat down at my desk this morning.    this week was going to be the week when i quit drinking so much soda... but... ummm... i didn't sleep well... i need the caffeine...  i'm coming off of a long weekend...  i'll quit tomorrow, honestly....  blah, blah, blah.

hahah, i'm glad that you are entertained by my whining!  perhaps i'll come up with a good reason to break out my "sad pants dance" tomorrow.

Sad-pants days are definitely due now and then.  Feel free, complain away!  That's what friends outside your particular situation are for.
